Creating and Editing a Microlearning Module

On the right-hand side of the Content tab, you will be able to organize, upload, and edit your media.

CREATING A MICROLEARNING MODULE

To add a microlearning module to your platform click on the "Add new" button. Choose the "Mircolearning Modue" button from the "Add New" drop down.

Click the "Build Microlearning Module" to create your module.

Title:
Add a Title and Description to course by clicking on and then typing in those fields.

Theme Drop Down:
You can choose your theme by clicking on the drop down in the upper right hand corner. This will change the color and font of your module.

Content:
Click the text, image, video, CenarioVR, or Game icons to add content to your module.

  • Text: You can use this to add text to your microlearning module. Users can translate text modules by clicking on the language icon in the upper right-hand corner. 
  • Image: Add images to your microlearning module by uploading them from your device.
  • Video: Choosing the video icon will allow you to upload a video from your device, record a video, add a YouTube video, or record a screen capture. When users view the video, they will be able to translate it into Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. Users can also turn on closed captioning.
  • CVR: Choosing the CenarioVR option will allow you to add a virtual reality module to your module. If you are interested in learning more about CenerioVR, please contact your account executive.
  • Game: Add interactive games to your microlearning module from The Training Arcade™. You can choose published games directly from your Training Arcade™ library. Games include Jeopardy, scenarios, and much more! To learn more about games, contact your account executive.

You can add as many text, video, image, or CenarioVR modules to your content as you would like by clicking on the "+" icon between sections or clicking on the text, image, or video icons.

If you would like to edit, delete, or move a section, hover over the section with you cursor and to bring up these options. Click and drag the move icon to rearrange the sections. Click the trashcan icon to delete a section. To edit a text section click the existing text with your cursor.

When viewing microlearning modules users will have the ability to view closed captioning and listen to audio in different languages by clicking the settings icon in the video player. Users can also translate text modules by clicking on the language icon in the upper right hand corner. 

 

When you are done creating your module, click on the "Publish" text in the upper right hand corner. This will publish your module and bring you back to the module details page.

Learner Activity
: Learner activities allow admins to add activities such as multiple choice questions, task lists, and uploads to existing and new video, audio, PDF, link, and event modules. To learn more, visit our Learner Activity article.

 

Presenters:

To add a presenter, type in the the presenter name you want to add to the module. When you are finished, press enter to confirm the presenter. A box will appear around the new tag. Your users will be able to search by presenter using the search bar on the Users Page.


Tags:

To add a tag, type in the the tag you want to add to the module. When you are finished, press enter to confirm the tag. A box will appear around the new tag. Your users will be able to search by tags using the search bar on the Users Page. You can also view reporting data on completed modules by tag (See Media Reports).

 

Learner Groups: Your module must be assigned to a earner group to appear on the User Page of your site. Click in the "Learner Groups" field to display a list of all your available learner groups. You can assign a module to multiple learner groups depending on how you set up your courses (See Learner Groups).


Description:

The module description will be filled out based on what you enter in the microlearning module builder.

Call to Action Button:

You can add a call to action button in the description of your module. Click the "Yes" button to enable the button. Add the button text, button link, and choose the button color.

 

Attachments: 

To add attachments to your module choose either the "Choose attachment file" or "Add link" buttons. Accepted file formats for attachments are .mp4, .mov, .mp3, PDF, zip, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Publish Information: Click the "Yes" button to publish this module. Click the "No" button to draft this module. Drafted modules will not be viewable to users on the Users Page. You can also choose a date to expire the module. When a module expires, it will become drafted and no longer be viewable to users on the Users Page.

 

Facebook Commenting:

To enable a commenting field below your module, click the "Yes" button. User will be able to add their comments and see other users comments below the module. This feature will not post comments on Facebook, only on the Rockstar Learning Platform. To set this up see the Account Settings article.


Additional Information: This section can be used to add notes to a module for admin purposes only. These notes will not appear on the Users Page.

EDITING FILES

To edit an existing file module, find the module you want to edit in the module list on the right hand side of the content tab. Click on the title of the module and then select the red "Edit" button. You will be able to edit all of the fields mentioned above and the microlearning module. Click the red "Update Module" button to save your changes.
